I am Polianna da Silva Ferreira, a PhD candidate in Physical Chemistry at the Institute of Chemistry, University of Campinas (UNICAMP), where I have been pursuing my doctorate since 2021 with full funding from the CNPq (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development). From October 2023 to March 2024, I conducted a research internship at the Department of Marine Chemistry and Geochemistry at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI), USA, supported by the CAPES-Print Institutional Internationalization Program.
I hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry and Petroleum Chemistry) from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES) (2020) and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry Education from the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (IFES) (2018), where I also earned a Technical degree in Chemistry (2014). My research focuses on chromatographic separation of complex mixtures and the development of sustainable materials for environmental remediation, guided by the principles of Green Chemistry. I am passionate about integrating sustainability into solving environmental challenges by developing innovative materials and eco-friendly processes to protect marine ecosystems and reduce environmental impacts.
